Donald Trump will no longer be the president of the United States come January 20th. He lost, he just doesn’t realize it yet. He isn’t the only one, though. With the amount of misinformation rearing its ugly head about election results, the GOP seems like it’s trying to confuse as many people as possible. Most of this confusion is coming from them having the shared delusion that Donald Trump actually won, this includes Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

During a news conference on Tuesday, the subject of the transition of power was brought up to Pompeo, who is a top ally to the president, and apparently is on the team that wants to go down with the ship. Pompeo was asked whether his agency is prepared to communicate and engage with President-elect Joe Biden’s team and his response was astounding:

There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” Pompeo said with smug cockiness.

Pompeo continued, “We’re ready, the world is watching what’s taking place. We’re gonna count all the votes. When the process is complete, there’ll be electors selected. There’s a process. The Constitution lays it out pretty clearly. The world should have every confidence that the transition necessary to make sure that the State Department is functional today … and successful with a president who’s in office on Jan. 20, a minute after noon, will also be successful.”

If their grand plan is to ignore the truth until everyone else has gone crazy they are off to a good start. The faster we get that orange menace to accept defeat, the faster Biden can get ascertainment and actually start addressing issues, instead of pouting and tweeting all day.
