President Biden Just Brutally Slapped Down Fox Reporter’s “Garbage” Question Right To His Face

Ouch, that's got to hurt.

Fox News’s Peter Doocy didn’t face off with White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday. Instead, he asked President Joe Biden a gotcha question, which didn’t go down well for him. Biden denied a report from the Wall Street Journal that claimed that his administration is considering paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to each migrant separated from their family under the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance policy.

“The Biden administration is in talks to offer immigrant families that were separated during the Trump administration around $450,000 a person in compensation, according to people familiar with the matter, as several agencies work to resolve lawsuits filed on behalf of parents and children who say the government subjected them to lasting psychological trauma,” the outlet reported on Thursday. ‘

That appears to not be true, according to President Biden.

“Do you think that that might incentivize more people to come over illegally?” Doocy asked Biden after bringing up the Wall Street Journal’s report.

“If you guys keep sending that garbage out, yeah. But it’s not true,” Biden shot back.

“So this is a garbage report?” Doocy asked.

“Yeah,” Biden said. “That’s not going to happen.”

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace said that President Biden should take more questions from Fox to fact check the network’s disinformation.

“Maybe he should do this every day, take questions from Fox News and knock down the disinfo at the source,” she said.

Watch:

While a lot of outrage has been expressed from the right over the report, legal experts explained to The Washington Post that settling with the families that were impacted could prove less costly than allowing the cases to play out in court.

“If it goes to trial and one case wins an enormous verdict, that gives other families motivation not to settle,” Heidi Li Feldman of Georgetown University said. “If a private business were in this situation, it would be extremely bizarre for them not to consider settling.”

At any rate, the report isn’t accurate, and the U.S. can be taken to court over the former administration’s cruel immigration policies. Something tells me that it’s going to cost us a fortune.
