Recently, we reported on a bombshell new development from the January 6th House Select Committee that’s currently investigating the infamous Capitol attack — when they penned a fiery letter to Georgia GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk, making it crystal clear that they are in possession of cold, hard proof that his claims that lawmakers in the party did not give conveniently-timed Capitol tours to individuals or groups just days before the attack, that could have given some of the rioters an advantage during the siege, was nothing more than a lie.
Now, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow is firing off on Loudermilk for seemingly failing to keep his stories straight on the matter.
In a new segment, the popular and beloved MSNBC host blistered:
Now, it turns out, that was at least the tour led by him, in which he let all the people wearing the red caps. Congressman Barry Loudermilk got caught out by the investigation on Thursday. He copped to it on that video on Friday. And guess what happened on Saturday.
Guess what happened next? You probably guessed this too. Statement from Donald J. Trump, quote, Barry Loudermilk, has my complete and total endorsement. So, this very serious-minded congresswoman came forward with this blood-curdling allegation over a year ago.
This particular congressman has not just been denying that allegation. He says that he’s seen the proof that this definitely never happened. He’s been mounting an attack on the congressman ever since, trying to get her in trouble for making this allegation. But now, it turns out it was him. At least it was him. It might have been him plus others, but at least him. He did it despite all his denials. He has been caught.”

Barry Loudermilk, like so many of his fellow Republicans, lied. He lied about giving tours to people who potentially went on to storm and attack the US Capitol with Congress inside, which potentially gave these individuals an advantage during the insurrection. He lied about the evidence that was presented against him. He lied, and so many of his comrades continue to do the same.
He’s lied so much that he got caught, and has now sheepishly admitted that some of the individuals that he gave a Capitol tour to, were the same individuals who went on to attack the nation’s Capitol building.
And let’s be honest, he’s just the one who’s happened to have been caught at this point.
