Report Claimed Trump Wasn’t Invited To A “Secretive” Think Tank Event With GOP Mega-Donors — But Critics Of The Ex-President And One Of Biden’s High-Ranking Advisers Were

Well, folks, if Donald Trump wasn’t having a bad day already, you can pretty much guarantee that he is now.

According to a bombshell recent report from CBS News, lawmakers and Republican mega-donors are slated to soon hold a “private, off-the-record” conservative conference as elections begin to approach. In a slice of bad news for the disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached former guy, the report claims that ex-President Donald Trump did not get an invite to the upcoming closed-door event. But to make matters even worse for Donnie, while he didn’t get an add to the guest list, several of his staunch critics, as and one highly-placed advisor to President Joe Biden did.

CBS News’ Robert Costa writes that an exclusive Georgia resort will be holding the conservative American Enterprise Institute’s annual World Forum this week, and among those who got an invite to the big, private event was some of the Republican party’s biggest, most notable donors (with the deepest pockets and biggest wallets) where they will engage in “invite-only discussions” with some of the GOP’s policy-makers.

According to the report, the event has been dubbed a “secretive” affair, “where industry titans and GOP megadonors [mingle] with mostly Republican power players at an exclusive, ‘off-the-record’ retreat.”

“While the nonpartisan — but historically conservative — group has previously supported aspects of Trump’s agenda, many of its scholars have become critics of the former president, particularly after he refused to concede defeat in the 2020 presidential election,” Costa writes in his report, before going on to add, ” This year’s guest list also underscores how some leaders inside the establishment wing of the Republican Party and their allies on the right are increasingly eager to move on from Trump and loosen his grip on the conservative movement.”

The renowned CBS reporter goes on to specifically note that the upcoming private event is slated to see an appearance and discussions from speakers including Democratic figures as well as possible contenders for the 2024 Republican nomination — but Donald Trump was not included in the lineup.

But there is one invitee to the “secretive” event that’s of specific note — President Joe Biden’s top economic adviser, Brian Deese. Deese is reportedly scheduled to participate in a breakfast discussion with Republican mega-donors titled, “An Interview with the Director of the National Economic Council.”

Costa wrote, for reference, “In 2019, the AEI World Forum drew attention when it was reported that then-Vice President Mike Pence was sharply questioned by former Vice President Dick Cheney about the Trump administration’s foreign policy, highlighting how various players in AEI’s orbit have long been uncomfortable with elements of Trump’s populist and nationalist policies.” The CBS reporter goes on to note, “It is unclear whether Pence was invited to the 2022 event.”

Trump has already had a hard way to go of it for some time now and there’s no denying that it keeps getting worse and worse for the guy. This is very liable to tip him entirely over the edge.
