Report Claims Rose Garden, Recently Renovated By Melania, Is Now Undergoing Repairs Less Than Three Weeks After Unveiling

Why am I not surprised?

Just a few short weeks ago, social media was a-buzz with the renovations that First Lady Melania Trump had commissioned on the historic White House Rose Garden ahead of the Republican National Convention — parts of which were held in the “updated” garden.

As news of the renovations broke, social media was quick to express their thoughts on the changes, most of which weren’t keen on the updates and renovations the Rose Garden went through. But, to each their own, I suppose.

However, a new report from CNN now claims that the iconic Rose Garden is already closed for repairs less than three weeks after Melania’s controversial renovations.

The report notes that the White House Rose Garden is now under repairs for “issues with water drainage” as well as “some minor complications with updated construction” not even three weeks after the updates were officially unveiled. In addition to the repairs, the garden is also apparently getting new sod.

A private party was hosted by the First Lady on the 22nd of August to celebrate and mark the completion of the Rose Garden renovations that allegedly took around three weeks to finish.

The Rose Garden hosted around 75 guests on the 25th of August for Melania’s RNC speech. However, a source told CNN that the grass was too muddy at the time to accommodate that many guests, so a “turf” lawn was put down over the soggy grass.

Yesterday, Trump held a news conference on the North Portico, which is a rather unusual spot for such an event, but sources said that seating in the Rose Garden “would not be doable” in its current state.

CNN goes on to report that “Trump has also had to motorcade to Andrews Air Force Base of late, again preventing media from seeing the construction in the Rose Garden in recent days.”

Whether you were a fan of Melania’s renovations or not, it does seem as though the project may have been a bit too rushed, as the whole thing appears to be out of commission for the time being.
