President Donald Trump appears to be gearing up for a golf outing in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic after a new report revealed this week that Secret Service placed a $45,000 “emergency order” for golf carts on the taxpayer’s dime.
Sterling, Virginia is home to one of Trump’s golf courses, which remains in operation because Governor Ralph Northam exempted golf clubs from the shutdown order in his state. Trump’s other golf courses in Florida and New Jersey are closed.
The Secret Service claims that they are preparing for the arrival of a “dignitary,” but it’s rather apparent that Trump is the one who will be golfing as Americans continue dying during this crisis.
So far, the death toll stands at over 5,000 and climbing. The number of cases has crossed beyond 200,000.

The economy is in shambles as unemployment claims soared to nearly 10 million this week, putting the United States on a trajectory that could result in an unemployment rate far worse than during the Great Depression.
Americans are struggling to make ends meet, and Republicans refuse to approve more stimulus cash to help them. But Trump sure has no problem using taxpayer money to pay for his golf and security, which is why the Secret Service placed an “emergency order” for golf carts in Sterling that will cost $45,000.
Seriously.
According to the Washington Post:
The new contract, which the Secret Service described as an ’emergency order,’ does not mention Trump or the golf club by name. But it closely mirrors past contracts signed by the Secret Service, for agents accompanying Trump to his golf clubs in New Jersey and Florida. The White House declined to comment Wednesday. Neither Trump’s company, the Trump Organization, nor the Secret Service responded to questions.”
This is about as outrageous as is gets. Here we are going through one of the worst crises in our history and Nero is going golfing while the country burns. As you will recall, Trump frequently complained about former President Barack Obama golfing as disasters were unfolding. But those pale in comparison to the unfolding devastation we are currently experiencing.
Now is not the time to be golfing, and it’s just another insulting example of Trump fleecing taxpayers and ignoring a crisis because he doesn’t care about anyone but himself.
