Texas Sen. Ted Cruz provoked outrage for going on a vacation in Cancun, Mexico. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of homes in his state had to endure the fourth day without heat on Thursday amid the winter storm that crippled the state’s electrical grid. Texans are without food, water, and power, yet Cruz decided to take a family vacay. Cruz is reportedly on his way back to Texas after coming under scrutiny for his trip. And, of course, the Texas Republican is blaming his daughters for his bad decision to go on the trip while his constituents are without the basic needs to stay alive.
“With school canceled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends,” Cruz said in a statement. “Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”

That didn’t go down very well.
Blaming your daughters is just next level. You gotta just tip your cap. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

Anyone surprised that the dude who cozied up to Trump after he called his wife a dog, would blame his kids for him taking a vacation during a deadly storm in his state?

My kids wanted to take a trip to somewhere warm too while we were sitting in the dark freezing….but when I called the Houston Police Department to help me arrange transport to the airport on icy roads with no traffic lights they said I was insane.

Why is @BetoORourke doing the job of a US Senator while the actual senator has flown to Cancun? Jesus.
Boy Texas, you chose poorly.

What an absolute disgrace, but it’s so Ted Cruz-y.
