Social Media Mocks Tulsi Gabbard’s Confirmation Outfit: ‘Cruella Deville’

Will Tulsi consult her whackjob guru before making decisions?

It’s hardly surprising that the Republican-controlled Senate voted to confirm Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence earlier Wednesday. The former Democratic congresswoman who’s now a proud MAGAtista was a shoo-in for the post, with Mitch McConnell(R-Ky.) being the only Republican holdout and despite fierce opposition from Democrats like Sen. Adam Schiff (California).

Gabbard wore a crisp white suit that accentuated her white-streaked black hair. Her striking ensemble led some to draw comparisons between her and Disney villain Cruella De Vil, of 101 Dalmatians fame. But even though she radiated confidence, the hearing that led to her confirmation didn’t go off without a hitch — she faced scrutiny from Democrats and Republicans over her ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin and her seeming reliance on her weirdo anti-gay guru, The Daily Beast reports.

Republicans who initially doubted her eventually got in line, with the exception of McConnell, and Gabbard was confirmed to become the Trump administration’s director of national intelligence with a 52-48 vote.

And while some Republicans lauded Gabbard — most notably Meghan McCain, who crowed, “We love you so much and are so proud of you and Abraham,” others couldn’t resist likening her blatant attempt to appear pious to the beloved Disney villain.

Then Gabbard began trending on X as the hearing wore on, prompting a Reddit group to open, and commentators made funny observations about her outfit.

“Any moment now, I’m waiting for her dramatic cape swirl and evil monologue,” one commentator quipped.

Another colorfully compared her to one dog breed: “She’s the human equivalent of a s–tbull.”
And on X, @SRQ1971 quipped, “Republicans confirm Cruella DeVille as Director of National Intelligence.”
McConnell, 82, laid out his sentiments in a statement, writing, “The nation should not have to worry that the intelligence assessments the President receives are tainted by a Director of National Intelligence with a history of alarming lapses in judgment.”
It’s all well and good that McConnell is doing this now, but if he’d voted to indict Donald Trump during his impeachment over the Jan.6 riot— as he should have, the country might not be in this mess right now.
On X, the comparisons to Cruella De Ville continued.
@ReneeKathryn3 said, “Cruella Devill Putin’s asset is now in our government.”
Of course, the comparisons to Cruella De Vil have been going on well before her confirmation hearings.
This includes Hollywood After Dark host Matt Jarbo, who wrote the following last September: “Tulsi gabbard looks like she’s a Disney villain who likes to skin cats not only for their fur…but because she likes it”
Trump openly and knowingly nominated people who are dangerous to democracy. This is a shameful time. Gabbard is known to have defended Putin and former Syrian President Bashar-al-Assad.
USA, this isn’t a good look. We’re standing in front of the mirror held before the rest of the world, and we’re a laughingstock. It’s time to take stock of ourselves and climb out of this mess. I don’t know how we’ll do this, but we have to fight Trump at every turn and make him aware that we won’t put up with this.
Maybe it is too late. Darkness is descending quickly.
