Sources Claim Advisers Had To Step In And Talk Trump Out Of Spending The Entire Weekend At His Personal Golf Course Amid National Crisis Because It Was Bad “Optics”

Honestly, we'd have probably been better off letting him golf.

With all the havoc that’s currently raging throughout the United States — you know, a literal deadly pandemic and massive protests and riots from coast to coast, with thousands right on his front lawn — it looks as though Donald Trump has gotten to the point where he just wants to throw in the towel and go play some damn golf already.

And really, it comes as no surprise.

Trump has spent the majority of his presidency on the links. And now that the entire world is burning down around us, his typical schedule has had quite the wrench thrown in it.

Over the course of the past several weeks, Trump has only really ventured outside the safety of the People’s House to make a complete scene in the streets of D.C. after he was made fun of for retreating to his bunker amid massive protests right outside his window, and then once to visit a swab factory in Maine where he ruined every last product they had because he refused to just cover his damn face.

But to make matters worse, Donnie was really itching to stop off at his Bedminster Golf Club to play a few rounds while the entire nation continues to burn down around him.

The only thing that stopped him was a slew of his aides who were forced to talk him out of it, lest the world officially be 100 percent convinced that he’s a lazy, no good piece of trash.

According to a report from NBC News:

President Donald Trump had planned to spend this weekend in New Jersey at his Bedminster golf resort, but the White House opted to change course and cancel the trip a few days ago in large part due to the potential for ‘bad optics’ of the president at one of his private clubs as national protests continue, according to two people familiar with the decision-making.

The original idea was to travel from Maine — where he visited a plant manufacturing coronavirus testing supplies — to New Jersey on Friday and spend it as ‘working weekend,’ but the president ultimately agreed with his advisers that the plan could be problematic as thousands of demonstrators descended on the White House on Saturday for another day to protest the killing of George Floyd in police custody, the people familiar with Trump’s choice said.

This would have been the president’s first time back at Bedminster since last August. Trump is currently scheduled to be there, at least for one day, next weekend when he is slated to host an in-person fundraiser for his reelection effort.

Folks, it doesn’t really count as a good decision when someone has to force you to go back to work instead of golf.
