Ted Cruz Appeared To Suddenly Realize He Was Being Called Out As GOP Lawmaker Brutally Slammed The “Jackassery” Of Senators Trying For Their 15-Minutes Of TV Fame During Supreme Court Hearings, While Sitting Right Beside The TX Senator

Called out, sir!

The Republicans have, unsurprisingly, made complete and total asses out of themselves throughout every single moment of every single day that the Senate has held the confirmation hearings for President Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. A whole lot of their pathetic, childish behavior (such as Lindsey Graham storming out of the hearings not once, but twice, after screaming at the chairman) comes down to these GOP halfwits vying for their 15 minutes of fame on Fox News and OANN.

And one of their Republican colleagues is entirely fed up with it — so much so that he let the whole room know it, sitting right smack dab beside none other than Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who seemed to suddenly realize that he was probably one of the ones getting called out.

In the midst of the hearings, Senator Ben Sasse brutally called out his Republican counterparts for their over-the-top, performative nonsense, and the Texas senator turned Cancun wanna-transplant certainly seemed to get caught up in the shrapnel of Sasse’s anger.

Ben’s comments came in the midst of a plea to keep cameras out of the Supreme Court after a bill was recently introduced by Senators Dick Durbin and Chuck Grassley to add cameras to this country’s highest court and televise proceedings.

“We’ve had a number of members of this committee comment on cameras in the court,” Sasse stated. “I’ve made my position on this clear a lot of times that if I can give a tiny bit of friend of the court brief in advance because I think when you’re on the court and you all continue to debate this issue, I think it should be a decision for the Supreme Court to make about whether or not there are cameras in the courtroom, not a decision for the Article One branch to make for Article three.”

The GOP senator went on to point out that the presence of cameras often only serves to bring out the worst in some people and that the goal of transparency would ultimately just be undermined by the immature goal of going viral for some.

“There’s a whole bunch of things that humans can do if they’re not immediately mindful of some distant camera audience that they might be trying to create a soundbite for,” Ben argued. “Instagram can be useful for some small things, but for intellectual discourse, it is not a friend.”

Sasse then seemed to call out some of his colleagues’ recent over-the-top behavior during the hearings as an example of precisely what he means.

“We should recognize that the jackassery we often see around here is partly because of people mugging for short-term camera opportunities,” Ben stated, flanked by none other than Ted Cruz. “And it is definitely a second and third, and fourth-order of fact that the court should think through before it has advocates in there who are not only trying to persuade the nine justices but also trying to get on cable that night or create a viral video.”

As Sasse wrapped up his statement with the words “viral video,” Ted Cruz noticeably whipped his head around, seeming to suddenly realize that he was likely one of the ones the Republican Nebraskan was calling out.
