The Daily Beast Thinks Trump Seriously Contradicts Himself In His Unhinged Response To Their Report On SNL Debacle

This is so Trumpian.

According to a report from The Daily Beast, Saturday Night Live’s skits got so under the twice-impeached one-term president’s thin skin that Trump went as far as to ask the federal government to stop them from teasing him. It’s both a hilarious and pathetic story at the same time as it highlights Trump’s ignorance about satire being protected under the First Amendment. Trump cannot handle even the slightest bit of criticism. Well, Trump denied the report, but as the outlet reports, he also confirmed the story in his bonkers statement.

“The story that I asked the Department of Justice to go after ratings-challenged (without Trump!) Saturday Night Live, and other late-night Losers, is total Fake News,” Trump insisted. “It was fabricated, there were no sources, and yet the Lamestream Media goes with it.”

“I did say, however, that Alec Baldwin has no talent, certainly when it comes to imitating me,” Trump said. “The one who had what it took was Darrell Hammond.”

“With all of that being said, however, I do believe that the 100% one-sided shows should be considered an illegal campaign contribution from the Democrat Party,” Trump continued to say. Then he said it’s “hard to believe I got 75 million votes (the most of any sitting President) despite all of that, together with a very Fraudulent Election,” and then he hinted at another White House bid in “2024 or before!”

As the outlet notes, “The report cites two sources who were aware that Trump asked advisers and lawyers what the DOJ could do to stop SNL.” And by saying that the show should be “illegal,” Trump was “essentially confirming the sentiment at the center of the story,” The Daily Beast adds.

The report that Trump denies sounds so Trumpian.

“According to two people familiar with the matter, Trump had asked advisers and lawyers in early 2019 about what the Federal Communications Commission, the courts systems, and—most confusingly to some Trump lieutenants—the Department of Justice could do to probe or mitigate SNL, Jimmy Kimmel, and other late-night comedy mischief-makers,” the report read.

Has anyone tried unplugging Trump, then plugging him back in? I think he’s broken.
