According to a bombshell new report from CNN, the House Select Committee that is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the infamous January 6th Capitol attack has now officially obtained text messages that were allegedly sent between Donald Trump’s then Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, highly outspoken Right-wing “activist” Ginni Thomas.

Ryan Nobles, Annie Grayer, Zachary Cohen, and Jamie Gangel with CNN report, “These text messages, according to sources, took place between early November 2020 and mid-January 2021. Thomas recently revealed that she attended the pro-Trump rally that preceded the US Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, but says she ‘played no role’ in planning the events of that day. The content of the text messages may be of interest to the committee’s investigation, because it asked Meadows in a subpoena to turn over ‘both documents and your deposition testimony regarding these and other matters that are within the scope of the committee’s activity.'”

“The revelation of text messages between Thomas and Meadows, both key allies of former President Donald Trump, comes as progressives and some legal ethics experts see her activism as a potential conflict of interest for Justice Thomas’ work on some Supreme Court cases,” the CNN report goes on to read. “Meadows turned over thousands of text messages before he stopped cooperating with the committee. The texts have proven to hold a treasure trove of information about what was going on in the White House in the days leading up to the insurrection, and what people in Trump’s orbit were thinking.”

Mark Meadows personally and actively attempted to push the United States Justice Department to investigate numerous, baseless conspiracy theories regarding the 2020 presidential election and the idea that it was somehow stolen from Donald Trump, in the days and weeks leading up to the infamous, violent January 6th Capitol siege. Meadows even went so far as to demand an investigation into “Italygate,” the unhinged notion that Italian satellites were utilized to change results in U.S. voting machines, from a vote for Donald Trump to a vote for Joe Biden.

Thomas has recently found himself under deep scrutiny for refusing to recuse himself from a case on whether or not the House committee could obtain documents from the National Archives in connection to Trump’s communications on January 6th. Ultimately, Thomas was the only Supreme Court Justice to dissent from allowing them to do so.
