The absolutely damning bombshells coming out of Cassidy Hutchinson’s — a former White House aide to Trump’s old Chief of Staff Mark Meadows — surprise January 6th hearing testimony today just keeps getting more and more damning for Donald Trump.

We have already learned this afternoon that Donald Trump and his Chief of Staff Mark Meadows were made fully aware that many of the then-president’s supporters were armed to the gills with deadly weapons and body armor, as they tried to get into Trump’s now-infamous Stop the Steal rally at the Ellipse on January 6th, 2021. Trump asserted that they weren’t there to hurt them and demanded that the armed supporters be let past the metal detectors and into the rally, as he was “furious” that the space around his speech was unfilled.

We’ve also heard testimony as to how unhinged Donald Trump became upon learning that he would not be able to physically march to the Capitol building with his rabid mob on that fateful day.

According to Hutchinson’s testimony, Trump became so “furious” when he entered his motorcade car, “The Beast,” only to be told that his plan to march down to the Capitol building with his crowd would not be possible. Cassidy testified that Trump became irate and screamed, “I’m the fucking president! Take me to the Capitol NOW!”

But it gets worse…

Cassidy went on to testify that Trump grabbed the steering wheel and lunged at his driver, Bobby Engel, as he violently demanded to be taken to the Capitol.

Ms. Hutchinson stated that Tony Oranto, the Secret Service agent then in charge of Trump’s detail, immediately recalled the assault to her after it happened.

“I noticed the head of Mr. Trump’s security detail sitting in a chair, looking somewhat discombobulated, a little lost,” Hutchinson testified. “I looked at Tony, he said, “did you hear what happened?” I said, “No, Tony, I just got back, what happened?”

“Tony proceeded to tell me that when the president got in, he was under the impression that the off-the-record movement to the Capitol was still possible and likely to happen,” Hutchinson’s testimony continued. “As the president had gotten into the vehicle with Bobby, he thought they were going up to the Capitol. When Bobby relayed to him that we are not, we do have the assets to do it, it is not secure, we are going back to the West Wing, the president had a very strong and very angry response to that.”

She went on to state that Trump “said something to the effect of “I’m the effing president, take me up to the Capitol now,” to which Bobby responded, “We have to go back to the West Wing.”

“The president reached up to the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm, said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel, we are going back to the West Wing, we are not going to the Capitol.’ Mr. Trump then used his free hand to launch toward Bobby Engel,” Cassidy testified, noting that when Ornato “recounted the story towards me, he aimed toward his clavicle.”

Donald Trump’s driver, Engel, was allegedly in the room as Ornato relayed this incident to Hutchinson and did not “correct or disagree” with Oranto’s recounting, according to the former White House aide.
