Donald Trump tweeted out a blatant lie on New Year’s Eve, and it’s a falsehood that he has repeated at least 100 times now and we’re sure the “president” will say it again to add to his list of so-called accomplishments. Trump tweeted that one of his “greatest honors” was “to have gotten CHOICE approved for our great Veterans. Others have tried for decades, and failed!”
Well, unsurprisingly, Trump is taking credit for former President Barack Obama signing the Veterans Choice Act into law in 2014. Trump has repeatedly disparaged the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) and to add to that, the bill was negotiated in the Senate by the late “maverick” McCain and by Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
Trump was quickly called out for that, not that the “president’s” supporters will care about facts.
CNN reporter Daniel Dale jumped on Trump’s claim.
Trump told this lie at least 56 times in 2019. He’s up to at least 109 times for his presidency. pic.twitter.com/6t0JbVsq8a

It’s an easy thing to Google but Trump’s supporters praised him while others corrected the “president.”
This is a lie.
Sens McCain and Sanders got the bill written and passed. Barack Obama signed it into law.

Here’s Obama signing the Veterans Choice Act in 2014 that was sponsored by Bernie Sanders and John McCain.
Trump will keep saying that only he could get this bill passed. But we have this thing called the Internet to call out his lies. https://t.co/m6VgMeDVpp pic.twitter.com/DmRxdNtWma

Trump has been repeating this lie for ages and has been fact-checked each time.
“Trump said he passed a private-sector health care program, Veterans Choice, after failed attempts by past presidents for the last “45 years.” That’s not true,” the Associated Press reported in March. “The Choice program, which allows veterans to see doctors outside the government-run VA system at taxpayer expense, was first passed in 2014 under President Barack Obama.”
Trump is obsessively jealous of Obama and has taken credit for his predecessor’s achievements before. If he dislikes Obama so much, then you would think Trump would detest his achievements, too, instead of taking credit for them. The same can be said of Trump supporters who raged against Obama for years, but love the former President’s policies if Trump’s name is attached to them.
