He's such a miserable man.

One of Donald Trump’s many problems is that he can’t let go of a grudge, and the former reality TV star put that on display during his daily COVID-19 press briefing. Former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg is obviously occupying space inside of Trump’s Adderall-addled head. Bloomberg, a former presidential hopeful and an actual billionaire, has been donating money to help fight against the potentially deadly pandemic.

In contrast, Trump’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak has proven to be deadly. Today, the U.S. has reported 14,312 new cases, marking today the most cases detected by any country in a single day since the pandemic began. And yes, Trump carries a lot of blame for that. The Obama administration left a “playbook” drawn up by the National Security Council after the Ebola outbreak detailing how to respond to global pandemics. Trump ignored it, perhaps because it was a book.

The U.S. is reportedly now leading the world in COVID-19 cases. So Trump used his precious time at the podium today to [checks notes] take a shot at his former opponent after a Bloomberg News reporter responded to the president’s question of who he works for.

“Who are you with?” Trump asked.

The reporter responded, “I’m with Bloomberg.”

“Oh, how’s Michael doing, good?” Trump said just before smirking.

Watch:

That’s cute, Donald, but shouldn’t you be catching up on a little reading?

The Trump administration couldn’t even be bothered reading the 69-page National Security Council playbook that would have guided the president through hundreds of tactics and policy decisions to “prevent, slow, or mitigate the spread of an emerging infectious disease threat.”

Trump is incapable of setting his petty grievances aside to keep this country safe. Instead, he is busy taking swipes at reporters, sometimes berating them. In this case, it was because he can’t get over Michael Bloomberg challenging his presidency. Meanwhile, Americans are self-isolating while relying on quarantine food.
