As Donald Trump continues his 2024 campaign tour, news outlets frequently share footage of his speeches, effectively promoting his appearances for free. His events are marked by rambling speeches, where he often strays from key issues, frustrating even his supporters. During a stop in Johnstown, PA, Trump seemed unaware that his off-topic remarks were undermining his message.
Trump: “I do the weave. Do you know what the weave is? I’ll talk about 9 different things, and they all come back brilliantly together. And friends of mine that are like English professors say, ‘It’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen, but the fake news say, ‘He rambled.’” pic.twitter.com/s2yJYCzDeP

With his poll numbers sinking, especially since Kamala Harris launched her campaign, critics within his own party have voiced concerns. They argue that his incoherent speeches are costing him voter support. Instead of addressing pressing concerns, Trump frequently jumps from one topic to another, failing to make clear connections or focus on what matters to voters.
Pro-Trump Republicans have publicly urged him to stay on message, warning that his disorganized speeches could cost him the election. Throughout the campaign, his attacks on Kamala Harris have drawn additional criticism, with some accusing him of being sexist and racist. As his rambling continued, even conservative networks like Fox News and Newsmax, usually loyal to him, began cutting him off during his speeches. In one instance, a network anchor attempted to end a call as Trump rambled on aimlessly.
This shift in tone from his usual media allies signals growing frustration with his inability to stay focused, raising questions about his campaign’s future. He continues to humiliate himself almost on a daily basis. We will see if this will hinder his chances of getting back to the White House. What we can determine for sure is that he is definitely rambling and not weaving.
