As Trump is in the public eye attempting to make everyone believe that’s mentally sharper than he’s ever been in his life, a Trump biographer is speaking out, saying what we’ve all been thinking for some time now — the former president is not cognitively well, and he’s only getting worse with each passing day now.
Journalist and author of TrumpNation, Tim O’Brien, said that he quickly noticed the then-New York real estate mogul was not “cognitively together” even before his biography of the man who would go on to become the United States president was published back in 2005.
Now, O’Brien feels the subject of his book is ever worse off for the wear.
“I flew around with him in his plane and walked his golf courses with him 20 years ago… Not very cognitively’ together then,” O’Brien, who was once a journalist for the New York Times, wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter.) “Much less cognitively better now.”
Psssst: He’s not.
I flew around with him in his plane and walked his golf courses with him 20 years ago.
Not very cognitively together then. Much less cognitively better now. https://t.co/GVuRzUJmQL

The Trump biographer’s assessment of Donald’s mental health came in response to the former president’s recent campaign event, in which the 2024 Republican candidate told the crowd that his cognitive health is far better than it’s ever been.
“I think, cognitively I’m better than I was 20 years ago,” Trump told his supporters in Portsmouth, New Hampshire yesterday. “I don’t know why.”
The 77-year-old scandal-ridden ex-president went on to claim that he feels “about 35 years old.”
While Trump continues to insist that he’s basically a bonafide genius, many people who know him well are speaking out to the contrary.
In addition to O’Brien’s thoughts on the matter, Donald’s former director of strategic communications, Alyssa Farah Griffin, reacted to her old boss’ rally claims in a segment on CNN’s State of the Union, where she opined that the former president is “slowing down.”
“It’s kind of remarkable,” she said. “I’ve been watching the clips from Trump’s visit to Iowa and I’m stunned having spent a lot of time with him in 2020 and years before—he is slowing down.”
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung has since responded to Farah Griffin in a statement to Newsweek, stating that “Alyssa Griffin is slowing down and she needs to get it checked out.”
Try as hard as he may, I don’t think Donald Trump is fooling much of anyone.
