Donald Trump took to Twitter on Monday morning to brag about massive crowds of people greeting him in “Frorida” [SIC] and Texas, but of course, that’s the opposite of what actually happened. As Trump spoke in Florida, photos of his sparsely attended event circulated quickly on social media, but the president doesn’t want you to believe what you see with your own eyes. And Trump claimed he didn’t see any “Biden supporters” at his event, and we’re not sure why fans of the presumptive Democratic nominee would be at a gathering for this president.

“My visits last week to Texas and Frorida had massive numbers of cheering people gathered along the roads and highways, thousands and thousands, even bigger (by far) than the crowds of 2016,” Trump scribbled. “Saw no Biden supporters, and yet some in the Fake News said it was an equal number. Sad!” [We added a screen capture after Trump noticed his misspelling]

Well, we noted the crowd size at the time.

Trump is known to overinflate crowd sizes at his events. Twitter users pounced.

Both Texas and Florida are inundated with COVID-19 cases. Instead of being focused on the pandemic, the president is talking about crowd sizes to feed his massive but fragile ego.
