Trump Campaign Put Out Plea For People To Send In Birthday Videos For The President And It Backfired In A Bad Way

Well, that didn't go in their favor at all.

We all know that Donald Trump is floundering in every conceivable way at this point. With the pandemic raging throughout the entire country and now massive demonstrations from coast to coast, Donald’s support among even some of his biggest, most loyal fans is quickly slipping away from him and swirling down the drain.

Naturally, his campaign is going to some pretty drastic lengths to try and rein that support back in as November’s election season rapidly approaches.

As part of their effort to make it look as though Donald is still coming out on the top, the Trump campaign recently released a pretty desperate plea for supporters to film and send in birthday videos wishing the president a happy 74th birthday, which is on June 14th.

“We want to make this year President Trump’s BEST BIRTHDAY EVER,” read Trump’s campaign website, which provided a form for people to fill out and upload clips. The campaign promised to show Trump “the first 500 responses TONIGHT,” the Trump campaign’s tweet read.

However, to say that their desperate beg for attention backfired would be a massive understatement.

Instead of the influx of well-wishing happy birthday messages the campaign was assuredly hoping for, to show that Donald still has some support out there, they were met with a slew of angry responses from numerous people who are sick and tired of Trump’s shit.

And several of them came from some pretty prominent faces.

Actor Rob Delaney answered the campaign’s call with a video of himself posted to Twitter, calling Trump a “stupid bigot” and calling on him to resign.

“It’s going to be really miserable for you until November,” Delaney fired at Trump in his video.

“Because you’re just fucking garbage, but they’re like, ‘yay garbage,’” the actor continued, speaking on his disdain for Mike Pence and Ivanka Trump, who he says he hates more than the president himself. “Anyway, more and more people are growing to hate you every day, which is just fantastic, so you should fucking quit.”

Actor Michael Ian Black also weighed in with his own message for Trump, wishing him what he hopes will be his “final birthday in the White House” in a video uploaded to Youtube.

“You’re probably too busy to celebrate,” the actor blistered. “You’ve got television to work, tweets to write, protesters to gas, intelligence reports to ignore, pandemic responses to fuck up.”

Some Twitter users, in lieu of sending their own response, simply retweeted the campaign’s pleading post with their predictions for how terribly bad this was going to go over:

And boy, were they right.
