Trump Goes Ballistic In Closed-Door Meeting With Press, He’s Never Been Scarier

I can't believe this really happened.

Donald Trump’s attacks on the media have only gotten more disturbing. On a regular basis, the president has called the free press the “enemy of the people” and continued to destroy the trust America has in the only news sources that are holding the president accountable. And let’s not forget that in addition to this, Trump has been banning reporters from events and invoking violence toward those who criticize him. Here’s a snapshot of how Trump has been attacking the media just over the past few months:

It’s absolutely insane, and the GOP’s refusal to do something about it is disgusting and will be remembered in November, during midterm elections. But the Republican Party should have stepped in a long time ago, as Trump’s unhinged behavior has reached incredibly dangerous proportions before.

In 2016, Trump went absolutely nuts on the media in a terrifying closed-door meeting which should have been the last for the mentally unstable, unhinged POTUS. The meeting was so intense that it was described as a “f–ing firing squad” by the NY Post:

It was like a f–ing firing squad…Trump started with [CNN chief] Jeff Zucker and said ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed.”

The NY Post also wrote:

The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down.”

A source from the meeting said:

The meeting took place in a big board room and there were about 30 or 40 people, including the big news anchors from all the networks.

Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.’ He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars…Trump didn’t say [NBC reporter] Katy Tur by name, but talked about an NBC female correspondent who got it wrong, then he referred to a horrible network correspondent who cried when Hillary lost who hosted a debate – which was Martha Raddatz who was also in the room.”

This is horrifying behavior from the leader of the free world, and yet no one has done anything to control or reign Trump in since then. Trump is doing everything to shred Constitutional rights, while the GOP twiddles its thumbs and allows the president to continue attacking the press. This is not how our government was supposed to work.
