While a good portion of the U.S. population is self-isolating to help flatten the coronavirus curve, Donald Trump seems dead set on easing the practice of social distancing to open the economy back up. Of course, that would be in direct contrast to what experts are advising, but Trump is more concerned with boosting his chances of being reelected. Despite health officials’ warnings, Trump said this week that he wants the U.S. “opened up” by Easter amid the COVID-19 pandemic that has now killed over one thousand Americans. And of course, there’s a financial benefit for Trump to end social distancing.
Mickael Damelincourt, the manger of Trump’s Washington, D.C. hotel, announced on Twitter that he will host a “HUGE” celebration in a few weeks. Damelincourt added at the end of the video clip, “Be safe, we love you.”
