The investigations, lawsuits, and brutal losses are rapidly mounting against Donald Trump with no real end in sight and, suffice it to say, the former guy really just is not handling it all well.
Following Trump’s unhinged, treasonous, and dangerous behavior surrounding his attempted coup of the 2020 presidential election, the US Senate has taken it upon themselves to try to take steps that would help ensure that this country’s elections are more secure moving forward — not from the fake fraud that Trump and his people are trying to convince you of, but rather from people like Trump himself, and his dictator-esque behavior and actions that tore a rip in the seam of this nation’s very democratic process.
As such, a bipartisan group of senators has come together in an effort to reform the Electoral Count Act, an 1887 law that’s been widely scrutinized and criticized even before the 2020 fiasco that is meant to help govern the process of counting and casting Electoral College votes — the very same votes that Trump wanted tossed out this past presidential election.
NPR explains “The law itself was created after a chaotic election in 1876 that saw Democrat Samuel Tilden win the popular vote but lose the presidency because of contested election results, as three Southern states sent in competing returns. A decade later, Congress enacted the Electoral Count Act to avoid a repeated fiasco by establishing a clearer process for Electoral College certification,” and the publication goes into far deeper detail as to how this law may potentially be reformed moving forward in their article on the matter here.

But wouldn’t you know, it’s sending Trump into an absolute tailspin, as he apparently believes that Congress’ attempt to reform the Electoral Count Act is actually just proof that he was right all along, and his then-Vice President Mike Pence actually could have helped him overthrow the 2020 election if he really wanted to.
Trump aired out his grievances on the matter in an unhinged post on his flailing Truth Social platform.

“Senators are meeting right now on reforming the Electoral Count Act so that a Vice President can no longer do what EVERYBODY, except for certain Conservative legal scholars, said was not allowed to be done,” Trump fumed over the news of today’s bipartisan group meeting. “So they all lied. The V.P. could have sent fraudulent votes back to State Legislatures!”
It’s pretty clear that the dude is still every bit as eaten up with bitterness, jealousy, and blind rage as he was the day he realized he lost to Joe Biden.
You should really get that checked out, dude. It’s not healthy.
