Ex-President Donald Trump may have very well thought that life couldn’t possibly get any worse for him. But at this point, it’s becoming increasingly clear that the washed-up, one-term, twice-impeached former guy really hasn’t seen the half of it yet.
According to observations made and reported on by CBS News Congressional Correspondent Scott MacFarlane — who has personally spent the last two years closely following the January 6th House Select Committee’s investigation into the Capitol attack, as well as the trials of the rioters — Donald Trump’s former Attorney General Bill Barr was spotted at the offices of the January 6th House Select Committee, just one week before their public hearings are set to begin.

MacFarlane noted that despite attempts made by himself, and we’re assuming other reporters, Barr refused to answer any questions asked of him on his way into the offices.

Bill Barr had already resigned from his position as the Trump administration head of the Justice Department before the infamous January 6th attack on the Capitol took place. Barr allegedly resigned as attorney general over his vehement disagreement with the then-president’s unhinged claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him via mass, widespread voter fraud that simply did not happen.
Just last month, the former Trump-era attorney general allegedly told the House Panel that he would tentatively agree to speak to them “behind closed doors.” One inside source spoke with CNN and claimed that Barr had previously met with Committee member Republican Rep. Liz Cheney for approximately two hours and answered questions regarding the various conversations he had with the then-president about the election, both before and after November of 2020.
Barr spoke with the Associated Press and asserted that there was absolutely no widespread fraud involved in the 2020 presidential election — an assertion that stood in direct contradiction to the claims being made by Donald Trump both at the time, and still to this day. Barr would go on to reveal in his book that Trump became absolutely irate with Barr over this and effectively lost it on the former AG.
In a November 2020 statement, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said, “The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history. There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes or was in any way compromised.”
