Just yesterday, we reported that key Trump attorney Joe Tacopina has formally withdrawn from Donald Trump’s legal team, removing himself from not just one, but two New York Court cases against the former president — the criminal and infamous Stormy Daniels hush money case led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the E. Jean Carroll civil defamation trial appeal that Trump is currently fighting through.
The loss of one attorney was bad enough on its own, amid Trump’s ever-mounting legal problems. But the news got even worse for the scandal-ridden former president, as new reporting from Newsweek confirms that, when Tacopina withdrew from the Trump legal team, he took two of his colleagues with him — leaving the former guy down by a total of three key attorneys in just one day that he desperately cannot afford to lose right now.
With Donald’s criminal case set to begin in just two months, Newsweek confirmed that, upon withdrawing his own services from the Trump legal team, his fellow lawyers from his firm, Chad Seigel and Matthew DeOreo, would also be pulling out of the Trump cases as well.
In his court filing, pulling out of the ex-president’s criminal and civil case, Tacopina wrote, “I respectfully submit this Declaration in support of [Tacopina Seigel and DeOreo’s] motion, made pursuant to Local Civil Rule 27.1, to withdraw as counsel (including TSD attorneys Joseph Tacopina, Chad D. Seigel and Matthew G. DeOreo) for Trump, with such other and further relief as the Court deems just and proper.”

Ex-President Trump’s spokesperson Steven Cheung released a statement to the New York Times that failed to address Tacopina’s departure from the Trump legal team, but claimed that the former president boasts “the most experienced, qualified, disciplined, and overall strongest legal team ever assembled.”
As it stands, no clear reason for Tacopina’s sudden withdrawal from the Trump legal team has been publicly released.
The attorney was a key player in several of Trump’s defenses, across several cases against the former president, and has represented multiple, high-profile clients, including Fox News host Sean Hannity, the former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, and the rapper A$AP Rocky.
