Trump Is Reportedly On The War Path To Oust Republican Governor Over Cancelled MAGA Rally, Despite The Fact That She Had Nothing To Do With The Decision

This is PETTY petty.

Ex-President Donald Trump’s pettiness is once again on full display after a new report from the Wall Street Journal revealed that the former guy has set his vindictive sights on Alabama Republican Gov. Kay Ivey, as he blames her for a MAGA rally that was scheduled in the state back in July, that was ultimately canceled.

According to the report, Trump recently met with Lynda Blanchard, a former ambassador in his administration, and essentially dangled an endorsement over her head, if she would agree to ditch her current Senate campaign and instead go head to head against Ivey in the 2022 GOP primary.

“Mr. Trump has privately blamed Ms. Ivey for a state commission decision to block the former president from holding a rally in July at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park, which includes a World War II battleship and other historic military aircraft,” the Wall Street Journal report reads. “A spokeswoman for Ms. Ivey had said the governor played no role in that decision.”

In truth, commissioners at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park have already explained that they were responsible for canceling the ex-president’s event, stating that it’s prohibited to use the facility for partisan political events, per a report from a local NBC affiliate at the time — and if anything is most certainly a partisan political event, it’s a MAGA rally. It was noted that the commissioners ultimately made the decision to cancel Trump’s event after seeking the opinion of the state’s Republican attorney general.

Spokeswoman for Governor Ivey, Gina Maiola, spoke with Stars and Stripes back in June and stated that the Republican governor was “fully supportive of President Trump and worked closely with him as governor and appreciated his support of our state.”

“The Battleship Commissioners approached our office out of concern of a statute that says you cannot use state property for political purposes,” Maiola stated. “The governor and her team expressed that the law would not bar this event from happening and encouraged them to seek an opinion from the Attorney General.”

Back in August, Ivey posted photos to her social media of her warmly welcoming Trump to her state for a MAGA rally in Cullman.

“I was honored and thrilled to welcome President Trump back to Sweet Home Alabama today,” Ivey said in a statement at the time. “His America First Agenda is something that we believe in firmly here in Alabama.”

But we all know good and well, it doesn’t much matter how supportive someone is of Donald Trump. Once he feels as though he’s been slighted, even if he hasn’t been, he’ll hold a grudge until the day he dies.
