President Donald Trump finally responded to former President Barack Obama’s inspirational and hopeful commencement address, and it was just as petty as you imagined it would be.
During the speech, Obama recognized that high school graduates in the Class of 2020 are being forced to grow up too fast as our nation continues dealing with the coronavirus pandemic and Trump’s reckless and incompetent response to the crisis.
He also managed to note Trump’s glaring failure without even mentioning his name.
“More than anything, this pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing. A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge,” Obama said.
Obama’s remarks reminded Americans that our country used to be led by competent compassionate presidents who could string together coherent sentences without resorting to vicious lies, partisan attacks, and narcissistic showboating.

Oh, and the ratings were excellent, too.
Trump had yet to respond to Obama’s speech until a reporter asked him about it, and Trump’s answer was completely pathetic.
“Look, he was an incompetent president, that’s all I can say. Grossly incompetent.”
Trump then ran away as usual before he could be asked a follow-up.

It’s unlikely that Trump is done reacting to Obama’s address. He’ll go back into the White House and stew for a while until it makes him so angry that he goes to the toilet to rage tweet about it.
His jealousy of Obama is obvious.
