We’ve known for quite a long time that Donald Trump’s relationship with his youngest son Barron, the only child he shares with his current wife Melania, has been a bizarre one, at best.
While Trump has taken to heaping his praises on the teen in recent weeks, now that Barron has turned 18 and graduated from his prestigious private high school, the pair haven’t always appeared to be very close in the public eye, and speculations have long been swirling that Trump’s reluctance to get overly close to his youngest son is due, in large part, to Barron’s excessive height — something that Donald is notably insecure about.
Frankly, just one look at a photo of the two of them together proves that Barron absolutely towers over his father, who is reported to clock in at around 6’1″, while Barron is somewhere between 6’7″ and 6’9″, depending on who you’re listening to.
And now, it seems Donald has copped up to the real reason why so few of those photos of them together actually exist.

In a recent interview with social media star Logan Paul, for Paul’s YouTube page IMPAULSIVE, Trump discussed his youngest child and openly admitted that he avoids taking photos with Barron, seemingly because of his ginormous height.
“He’s a big boy. Six foot 9,” Trump said in the interview. “I couldn’t get him to play basketball. He plays soccer, he’s a good athlete. I say, ‘Barron, I don’t want to take a picture next to you.'”
While he didn’t outright say that Barron’s height is the reason, given the context of his remarks, it certainly seems as though Donald Trump openly admitted that he doesn’t like to take photos with his youngest child, simply because they make him look short.
This rumor, and now Trump’s own remarks, seemed to be corroborated by journalist Michael Wolff’s 2019 book, Siege: Trump Under Fire.
Wolff sat for an interview with Lawrence O’Donnell back when Barron was still quite young, but hitting his first good growth spurt, and said of Donald Trump, “He’s jealous of everyone’s height. He never lets himself be in a photograph with someone taller than he is. Height is his — is one of his techniques. He uses his height — and, remember, Donald Trump is a very large man.”
