Trump Retweets “Acquitted” Newspaper Headline As Pandemic Continues To Kill Thousands

You've got to be kidding me.

Now seems like just as good a time as any to remind you that Donald Trump was impeached in the United States House of Representatives.

He screwed over the American public one time too many with his blatant attempted extortion of the Ukrainian president when he tried to withhold aid to the country until Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to give him dirt on his political opponent, former Vice President turned Democratic frontrunner, Joe Biden.

Trump’s list of transgressions was a long one before the infamous Ukraine call, but the attempted extortion was evidently the straw that broke the camel’s back for the Democratic-controlled House, ultimately resulting in a long, drawn-out hearing process and ending in Donald’s formal, forever impeachment.

But of course, once the process was out of the hands of the Democrats in the House and foisted onto the GOP-controlled Senate, where Senate Majority Leader and Trump sycophant Mitch McConnell was leading the charge, it didn’t take long at all for the entirety of Trump’s sins to be swept back under the rug as the Senate handed him an undeserved acquittal that allowed him to remain in office.

Now, unsurprisingly, Trump tends to like to ignore the humiliating, “permanently impeached for the rest of his life” part and just cling tightly to the fact that a Senate stacked with his minions ultimately let him off the hook.

And it seems that a literal, global pandemic hasn’t done a single thing to humble him either.

As the deaths from COVID-19 in the United States alone top 60,000, with no true end in sight, Trump still wants to remind everyone that his friends in the Senate did him a solid by retweeting an old newspaper headline this morning that reads “ACQUITTED” right above his picture.

Frankly, it seems that Trump knows good and well he’s screwed this thing up beyond repair when it comes to this pandemic ordeal. And at this point, he’s just clinging to whatever he has left — which obviously ain’t much.
