Captain Brett Crozier was relieved of his duties — an act that was backed by the Trump administration — before the situation took a darker turn when the president’s acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly addressed the crew of the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Modly slammed the Captain for trying to help the men and women on the ship, sparking an outrage that led to the acting Navy Secretary’s recent departure.

Crozier left the ship as a hero for trying to save the men and women on his ship from the COVID-19 outbreak, while Modly left his post as a disgrace.

We’re all going through the darkest of times with the death toll in the U.S. hitting a staggering number and unemployment through the roof. So, Trump was attempting to varnish his disgusting image by distancing himself from Modly by claiming he doesn’t know him. Trump has a penchant for lying, but those falsehoods always come back to haunt him.

For example, there’s this photo that surfaced on social media:

The red hats will find an excuse for this, of course, but no one just happens to randomly sit next to the current President of the United States without a little familiarity.

Crozier pleaded with the Navy to allow sailors who had contracted coronavirus to be quarantined on land and that was leaked to the press. Being a hero in today’s climate isn’t a good thing to the Trump administration, apparently. Trump pardoned Edward Gallagher, the former Navy SEAL who was prosecuted for war crimes, then publicly demeaned Crozier for penning the letter.

Expect a doozy of a day today from Trump as the death toll nears fifteen thousand, and ten percent of the workforce is now out of a job. He’s going to shift the blame for this, of course. That’s just who he is. We don’t blame Trump for the disease, but his appallingly slow response has literally killed people in this country.
