In a move that left many scratching their heads and others rolling in laughter, former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday to share some bizarre photos. The images that Trump enthusiastically endorsed claimed that Taylor Swift fans, known as “Swifties,” are backing his 2024 presidential campaign. The only problem? Most of the photos seem to be fake, generated by artificial intelligence.
Trump, seemingly unaware of this, or perhaps the one that generated them, posted screenshots of women wearing “Swifties for Trump” shirts. One user on X declared, “The Swifties For Trump movement is real!” But the photo collage they shared was labeled a joke and many found it hilarious. Another fake image showed Taylor Swift, a celebrity who publicly criticized Trump and supported Joe Biden in 2020, dressed as Uncle Sam with a message urging people to vote for Trump. Trump’s response? “I accept!”
It’s unclear whether Trump was seriously endorsing these AI-generated images or if he realized they were fake. Many people wonder if he thought they were real, given his age and the cognitive decline that may be happening. Among the photos he shared, only two were real. One displayed a Trump supporter wearing a “Swifties for Trump” shirt at a Wisconsin rally.
Taylor Swift, who has been vocal about her disapproval of Trump in the past, hasn’t endorsed any candidate for 2024. She has previously called out Trump for his handling of the Black Lives Matter protests and his attempts to undermine the U.S. Postal Service.

However, she has not publicly endorsed Biden or Harris for their 2024 campaign. Many assume she’ll back the Democratic nominee, but that has yet to be proven. Of course, Trump saw that as an opportunity to hopefully trick the nation into believing that the pop star loves him.
According to HuffPost, Swift fans are hoping she will attend the Democratic National Convention this week. Whether she does, one thing is clear: the idea of a “Swifties for Trump” movement seems to be more fiction than fact.
