Trump Takes To Social Media To Rant About Arlington Cemetery Debacle, Instantly Seems To Make It Worse

Here he goes again.

Donald Trump was in rant mode early Tuesday over the flap concerning Arlington National Cemetery, using this as an opportunity to blame “Comrade Kamala and her misinformation squad.” He claimed Harris and “sleepy Joe” fabricated the controversy because they have “blood on their hands.”

I suppose that’s as convenient an excuse to use as any, especially since Trump appears to have forgotten he incited a mob of his supporters to attack the U.S. Capitol, encouraging them to “take back our country.” Which left several people dead and hundreds wounded.

But I suspect Trump knows his campaign is tanking, so he’s doing what he always does — take the low road and aim below the belt. His tirade was shouty as usual, and he thundered:

“There was no conflict or “fighting” at Arlington National Cemetery last week. It was a made up story by Comrade Kamala and her misinformation squad. She made it all up to make up for the fact that she and Sleepy Joe have BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS for the INCOMPETENT AFGHANISTAN Withdrawal – THE MOST EMBARRASSING DAY IN U.S. HISTORY!!! They should have been at Arlington, not on a beach or studying for a Debate. Thank you to my friends, the GREAT GOLD STAR FAMILIES, for revealing the TRUTH OF A BEAUTIFUL DAY OF HONOR. Could not have been a nicer moment-And there were no fights or problems, only in the heads of those that are destroying our Country! MAGA2024”

It’s bad enough that Trump writes this tripe, but the controversy began when the Trump campaign used the visit to the cemetery as a photo-op, according to The New Civil Rights Movement. It was clearly little more than this and included Trump standing behind the headstone of a fallen soldier and giving a thumb’s up.

And X users had thoughts about Trump’s bilious post.

“So according to you the army is lying??” asked @Nanotech2555.

“No, you are talking about the employee of Arlington, not Kamala. She didn’t make it up. The employee told people what happened, the media heard about it, reported on it, Kamala commented on it. Here you go again blaming other people for your own campaign’s doing,” wrote @Dawn73Nigel.

“And you have the blood of 45 US soldiers who died in Afghanistan under your presidency because you didn’t pulled out Ike [sic] you had promised,” added @4GuardioLista.

How disgraceful that Trump can even write something this vile. How creepy and awful. The man doesn’t even have the sense to know how terrible this is.

Captain Bone Spurs and his campaign did this after going to Section 60, the part of the cemetery where recent casualties are buried. That’s when the fun began, and it led Arlington officials to release this statement:

“Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign. Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants.”

One cemetery official tried to stop campaign staff from entering the area, but the ghouls in the Trump campaign pushed and berated the person, according to NPR.

Trump has always made his dislike of military service members quite plain. We know how he attacked the late Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.), who was wounded during the Vietnam War and spent years in a POW camp, by saying “I love people who weren’t captured,” as if McCain could have somehow avoided this.

Responding to Trump’s failed photo-op, Harris said the former president “disrespected sacred ground, all for the sake of a political stunt, The Guardian reports. White House officials also say neither Harris or President Joe Biden were invited to the wreath-laying ceremony, NBC reports.

I don’t know if cemetery officials regret this, because if Harris or Biden had attended, rather than Trump, it would have been a far more dignified event. Instead it turned into a circus. And if anyone doubts Trump did a thumbs up at the grave of a soldier, I’m providing this load of blather from former Trump aide Corey Lewandowski, who may be trying to brown nose the ex-president for a job if he wins the election.

How revolting.
