It seems the fear and desperation are kicking into high gear for the Trump Team behind closed doors, as CNN recently reported that the former president’s legal team is now embroiled in a highly aggressive, secret court battle in a desperate attempt to keep aides from testifying before a federal grand jury about Donald Trump’s unhinged and illegal efforts to quite literally overthrow a United States presidential election when he lost to Joe Biden in 2020.
CNN was able to speak with sources who were briefed on the legal matter and recently reported:
Former President Donald Trump’s attorneys are fighting a secret court battle to block a federal grand jury from gathering information from an expanding circle of close Trump aides about his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, people briefed on the matter told CNN.
The high-stakes legal dispute – which included the appearance of three attorneys representing Trump at the Washington, DC, federal courthouse on Thursday afternoon – is the most aggressive step taken by the former President to assert executive and attorney-client privileges in order to prevent some witnesses from sharing information in the criminal investigation events surrounding January 6, 2021.
The court fight over privilege, which has not been previously reported and is under seal, is a turning point for Trump’s post-presidency legal woes.”
To be frank, it seems as though Trump is fully aware that these people have what could shape up to be some of the most damning dirt on him that he’s ever faced in his lifetime — as he became more unhinged than ever before in the aftermath of his humiliating loss, throwing whatever little bit of caution he had left to the wind. And, at the end of the day, there is no guarantee regarding their loyalty or their willingness to potentially lie under oath to protect the scandal-ridden ex-president.
This particular court battle is especially monumental, in the sense that the ultimate resolution of the fight could determine whether prosecutors across the board can finally dismantle Trump’s claims to executive privilege protection surrounding countless West Wing conversations and talks with the attorneys he spoke to in connection to his crazed, manic efforts to cling to the presidency that he did not win, with the help of a legal team working on his behalf.

As far as the secrecy aspect of the court battle, CNN notes that it’s not peculiar, as it’s dictated by grand jury secrecy rules, leaving “the legal dispute is under seal, with no public documents to show the state of play.”
