The president had some bad things to say about the White House.

Donald Trump has spent much of his second term redecorating the White House, adding gold accents everywhere, and even tearing down the East Wing to make way for his new ballroom.

The president, on his way back from Ireland this week, took to Truth Social to blast the White House’s condition, long known as an ornate and beautiful building.

“The White House was in very bad condition, both inside and out. Frankly, it was a ‘dump!’ Past Presidents did not take care of it. I love renovating it during my spare time, which is not much. The Department of Interior, and various contractors, are doing a fantastic job,” the president said on Truth Social.

He then posted before-and-after pictures.

“The exterior “skin” of the Building was practically falling off! It is now in better shape than when built in 1792. Such an Honor to have the privilege of saving this Great Structure! More time without renovation would have destroyed our beloved White House!”

It’s probably unimaginable that any other previous president of the United States would have ever through to trash the White House itself as a “dump.” It’s also not clear why Trump, who was president for four years already, wouldn’t count as one of those ex-presidents that neglected the building.

Social media users trashed the president for complaining about the building.
