Trump Went On A Social Media Rant — Now It’s Getting Torn Apart Online

The president has railed against polls showing his approval rating is low.

Donald Trump’s approval ratings have never been strong, especially in his second term. His approval has been consistently underwater since a few weeks into his term in the spring of 2025, and it’s gotten especially low lately. But Trump does not believe those poll numbers are real.

“My REAL Polling Numbers, not those made up by the Fake News Media, are the best they have ever been, and why wouldn’t they be with the biggest tax cuts and employment numbers EVER, the biggest outside Investment in America in World history, a totally secure Border, a giant Victory in Venezuela, the Denuclearization of Iran, unparalleled respect and success throughout the World, and much more?,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, in a long run-on sentence.

“Don’t believe the Radical Left’s Fake Poll numbers. They are Crooked and Corrupt, just like the Country Destroying Dumocrats are Crooked and Corrupt.”

As noted by The Daily Beast, it’s not clear if he’s talking about any specific poll.

“Fresh data from CNN puts his approval at a meager 34 percent, matching his post-Jan. 6 trough, while a new AP-NORC poll has him tied at a post-2017 low of 33 percent,” the Beast said. “Quinnipiac paints an even grimmer picture, dropping him to a career low of 32 percent.”

Other presidents have done much better, at this point in their second terms.

“Historical Gallup surveys show Bill Clinton boasting a 64 percent approval rating at this point in his second term, with Ronald Reagan at 61 percent and Dwight D. Eisenhower at 58 percent,” The Beast said. Other presidents, including George W. Bush and Barack Obama, were at below 50 percent at this point in their second terms, but still doing better than Trump is now.

“He’s always going to project strength regardless what the numbers are, and he’ll say they’re fake anyway,” Douglas Heye, a veteran Republican strategist, told the New York Times over the weekend, the Daily Beast said.

According to the RealClearPolling average, Trump is currently at an average approval rating of -19.2. Every single poll listed has him in the red, most of them by double digits. Historically, Trump is just down from his all-time low of -19.6, which was his RCP average approval rating a few days ago.
