In October of last year, Forbes reported on just how much jeopardy now-former President Donald Trump is in financially. It doesn’t look good for the former president that refused to honor his repeated vows to release his tax returns. About half of Trump’s $900 million debt, according to the outlet, is coming due from the start of 2021 to the end of 2024 and is secured against assets that he and his children own outright.

Trump “will have to pay back loans against his hotel in Washington, D.C., his golf resort in Miami and his tower in Chicago,” the outlet reported, adding that “He’ll also have to sort out the debt against Trump Tower and Trump Plaza in New York City.”

And now, there’s a report from CNN about Trump’s gold-plated Boeing 757. And, of course, it’s gold-plated. We’ve all seen photos of his gaudy residence in Trump Tower in New York City.

According to CNN, Trump’s fancy pants plane sits idle on an airport ramp in Orange County, New York, about 60 miles north of Manhattan.

“One engine is missing parts. The other is shrink-wrapped in plastic,” CNN reports. “The cost to fix and get it flyable could reach well into the high six-figures, a price-tag Trump doesn’t appear to be dealing with right now. Though the current state of his finances aren’t public, the Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on the hospitality industry home to so many of his businesses.”

“Flight records accessed by CNN show the 757 hasn’t been flown at all since Inauguration Day, when Trump’s use of Air Force One ended, leaving him to less showy modes of transport,” the report continues.

“Trump rarely, if ever, admits to losing power,” the report adds. “With the 757 apparently out of commission, Trump is left with his much smaller corporate jet, at least for now. According to flight data, Trump’s 1997 Cessna 750 Citation X has been in semi-regular rotation for the last few months, often flying between Palm Beach International Airport and LaGuardia Airport in New York.”

Trump is inundated with legal and financial problems, and like with COVID-19, they aren’t simply going to go away.
