According to a bombshell new report from the Washington Post, one of former President Trump’s golf clubs just took one straight to the chin as they agreed to pay a whopping $400,000 fine for overserving alcoholic beverages to a patron who went on to cause a fatal car crash back in 2015.

Back in 2019, the Trump-owned golf club pleaded no contest to administrative charges that were filed against the club by the state Division of Alcoholic Beverages. The 2019 charges alleged that the club served alcoholic beverages to customer Andrew Halder when he was already clearly intoxicated. On the night of August 30th, 2015, Hadler went on to flip his car just four miles away from the Trump-owned club, ultimately killing his own father who was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. In the end, Hadler was sentenced to three years of probation after he pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter.

It wasn’t just overserving Hadler that had eyes on the ex-president’s golf club, though. According to the charges, the club was also accused of serving alcoholic drinks other than beer from golf carts out on the golf course; something that’s not allowed.

David Fahrenthold with the Washington Post reports, “The state had originally sought to revoke the Colts Neck club’s liquor license, a penalty that would have also revoked liquor licenses at Trump’s two other New Jersey clubs,” referencing the Bedminster and Pine Hill clubs.

“Golf industry experts said that would have removed a major source of the clubs’ revenue… Instead, the Colts Neck club will pay the $400,000 penalty, which is equivalent to 6.5 percent of its total revenue in 2020, according to Trump’s presidential disclosure filings,” the report reads.

I suppose it didn’t all turn out bad for the ex-president’s clubs, though, as the clubs did get a victory in the sense that the state of New Jersey allowed the club in Colts Neck, N.J, as well as two other clubs owned in the state by the former real estate “mogul” turned ex-president, to keep their liquor licenses amid the controversy.
