Newsmax host and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer asked Donald Trump about his new picture book, and a caption under a photo of him and his former Vice President Mike Pence that says that they “got along great except on one issue.” Spicer said, “Vice President Pence on Thursday said that he did the right thing on Jan 6. In your mind, did he do the right thing?” Trump replied, “Totally. He didn’t do the right thing,” before launching a lengthy rant about deceased Capitol rioter Ashli Babbit.

Trump lashed out at Capitol Police officer Michael Byrd for shooting Babbitt as she tried to break into the Capitol to stop the peaceful transition of power.

“They killed Ashli Babbit!” the twice-impeached one-term President told the uncomfortable-looking Newsmax host. “They shot her, and they killed her. There was no reason for that. If that ever happened the other way around, you would be seeing trials on television right now! And the man that did it wouldn’t have a chance!”

“This guy couldn’t get out fast enough to say he shot an unnamed lady,” Trump complained. “They killed Ashli Babbitt!”

Watch:

Trump whipped his supporters into a frenzy on Jan 6, then urged the mob to march to the Capitol. The former President claimed that he would march with the crowd, but instead, he left the area by car. One of the people in the crowd was Ashli Babbit, who, before Jan 6, was asked on Twitter, “When do we start winning?” Babbitt replied, “Jan 6, 2021.”

Babbitt, with a Trump flag draped around her neck at the Capitol, yelled, “Go! Go!” Then, two men hoisted her up to the rim of a broken window. Babbit didn’t stop there. She then decided to stick her head through the frame; Capitol Police officer Michael Byrd fired a shot to protect the members of Congress. Babbit fell back into the crowd. The person responsible for her death, forcing Byrd to shoot the rioter, was Donald J. Trump. So, if Trump wants justice for Babbitt’s death, he should turn his crazy ass in. In June of last year, Trump signed an executive order to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law any person or group that destroys or vandalizes federal property, authorizing a penalty of up to 10 years in prison. Trump doesn’t seem to think that the rules apply to his very fine people, though.
