WaPo Columnist Claims Trump’s New Insane Lawsuit Against A Slew Of Democrats Seems To “Accidentally Prove” That His Own Case Is Incorrect

This is absolutely HILARIOUS!

We just recently reported that Trump has come out with yet another of his unhinged lawsuits against some of his sworn political enemies. This time, he’s apparently suing his former 2016 Democratic presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, as well as other notable Democrats, alleging that his political rivals attempted to rig the 2016 presidential election against him by pushing false narratives that tied him and his campaign to Russia.

While the whole ordeal is appallingly insane, it’s the exact sort of unhinged bullcrap we’ve come to expect from the one-term, twice-impeached former guy who’s so desperate to stay relevant he’d sell his soul if he still had any of it left.

But to make the whole thing that much more hilariously ironic, Washington Post columnist Phillip Bump penned a piece today, explaining that it sure seems as though Donald Trump’s lawsuit claiming that Hillary Clinton was the driving force behind the investigation into Russian interference “accidentally proves” that, well, Hillary Clinton was NOT the driving force behind the investigation into Russian interference.

Trump’s lawsuit reads, “Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty. The actions taken in furtherance of their scheme — falsifying evidence, deceiving law enforcement, and exploiting access to highly-sensitive data sources — are so outrageous, subversive and incendiary that even the events of Watergate pale in comparison.”

But Bump writes that one thing in particular really stood out to him.

“…as Trump and his lawyers were trying to prove that Clinton was the driving force behind the investigation into Russian interference, they were relying on documents released as part of that interference effort. It’s some mixture of dishonest and galling — and it’s not even the most ridiculous part of the case the lawsuit tries to make,” the WaPo columnist wrote.

The ex-president’s lawsuit states that in July of 2016 “U.S. intelligence agencies obtained insight into Russian intelligence analysis alleging that U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had approved a campaign plan to stir up a scandal against U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump by tying him to Putin and the Russians’ hacking of the Democratic National Committee.”

Bump notes that “it was bizarre to use this as some sort of indication that Clinton was driving the Russia probe for two reasons.”

The Post columnist goes on to note that for one, Clinton’s campaign was already “publicly elevating questions” regarding Trump’s alleged ties to Russia far before July 26, when her alleged plan to publicly launch the Steele dossier was even cooked up. Secondly, even in October 2020, “it was clear that the probe wasn’t a function of Clinton’s campaign. There was lots of information about what actually launched the investigation, none of which was downstream from Clinton.”

Has no one told this guy to quit while he’s ahead? No? Didn’t think so.
