Just when you thought former President Trump couldn’t possibly get any crazier or unhinged, a mind-boggling new report from Reuters reveals that the one-term, twice-impeached ex-president has officially lodged a lawsuit against several notable Democrats, including his 2016 Democratic presidential opponent and longterm sworn enemy Hillary Clinton.

What for this time? Apparently, he’s now alleging that his political rivals attempted to rig the 2016 presidential election against him by pushing false narratives that tied him and his campaign to Russia.

The lawsuit pretty much boils down to nothing more than a laundry list of Trump’s numerous grievances the former guy regularly aired out during his four recent years in the White House, after he literally beat Clinton through Electoral College votes, despite the fact that he’s now claiming the Democrats allegedly cheated on that one too. And, of course, to put the icing on the cake, this lawsuit comes in the midst of Trump’s continued claims, more than a year after he lost to Joe Biden, that the 2020 presidential election was also rigged against him via massive, widespread voter fraud.

In a 108-page lawsuit that was filed in a Florida federal court today, Donald Trump claimed, “Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty.”

Among the numerous claims made in the lawsuit, Donald also alleges “racketeering” and a “conspiracy to commit injurious falsehood, according to the report.

Trump is apparently seeking compensatory and punitive damages through the suit, claiming that he was “forced to incur expenses in an amount to be determined at trial, but known to be in excess of twenty-four million dollars ($24,000,000) and continuing to accrue, in the form of defense costs, legal fees, and related expenses.”

In addition to his 2016 presidential opponent, former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele was also included in the ex-president’s lawsuit.

Steele was the author of a dossier that was mass circulated to the FBI and various media outlets ahead of the 2016 election, that made rather embarrassing assertions that Russia was in possession of embarrassing information about the former real estate “mogul” and some of his Republican campaign advisors as well as the claim that Moscow was a driving force behind taking Clinton down in the 2016 race.

In 2020, a 966-page report was released by a Republican-led U.S. Senate committee concluding that Russia utilized Republican political operative Paul Manafort and the WikiLeaks website to help secure Trump’s 2016 win. Manafort was part of the Trump presidential campaign for 5 months in 2016.

Ultimately, Russia’s alleged interference in the US election, which has been vehemently denied by Moscow, led to the two-year-long Russia probe headed by former Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Mueller ultimately released a report in 2019 detailing the numerous ties that were discovered between the Russian government and the Trump campaign. However, they did not move forward with charges of criminal conspiracy against any Trump associates, nor did they directly tie Donald Trump to any knowledge of the links.

Mueller’s report claimed that “the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts.”

I’m not so sure you can really sure people for saying something that’s true, Donald.
