White House Scrambles To Explain Trump’s Record-Breaking Truth Social Posting Frenzy, Fails Miserably

Donald Trump posted 861 times on Truth Social in May, averaging 27 posts a day and more than one post every hour across thirty-one straight days. The White House now has an explanation for the pace, saying the platform “has never been hotter.”

The Daily Beast analysis behind the figure found that May became Trump’s busiest month on Truth Social since returning to office. That marked a significant jump from April’s total of 565 posts, which had already been unusually active on its own. According to the analysis, Trump’s late-night and early morning activity in April would have allowed a full night’s sleep on only five occasions.

The pace did not appear to slow as the calendar turned either. On Monday night alone, Trump sent out 47 posts in just 31 minutes, including endorsements for Republican candidates, criticism of Gavin Newsom, and complaints that the Dumacrats had gone “absolutely CRAZY.”

The posts themselves moved through a wide collection of subjects and images. AI-generated pictures of Trump alongside George Washington appeared on the feed, along with an image depicting Democrats bathing in feces and a portrayal of himself as Jesus Christ that was later deleted.

The list continued with memes comparing his presidency to Biden’s, criticism aimed at Obama, Biden, CNN, The New York Times, the Federal Reserve and the Pope, plus an image showing Trump shirtless in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool beside a bikini-clad woman. Il

The White House later stepped in with its explanation. Spokesperson Olivia Wales told The Daily Beast on Tuesday: “Truth Social has never been hotter, and it’s because President Trump offers his unfiltered thoughts to the American people, without the biased media taking him out of context.”

She continued: “The American people have never had a president as transparent as President Trump, who shares his thoughts with them in real time on all the important issues of the day. President Trump is a one-of-a-kind leader who has his finger on the pulse of the people better than any of his predecessors.”

That explanation also arrived as other questions around visibility continued circulating. Trump’s approval rating reached a record 58.3% disapproval in May, the highest level of either term. His Walter Reed medical report was withheld for three days before being released, and he has not appeared publicly before cameras since his Cabinet meeting on May 27.

The Daily Beast also found that as approval on the economy reached record lows, Trump’s Truth Social activity moved in the opposite direction. During his second term, that relationship has continued appearing with some consistency. When things are moving smoothly, Trump tends to be highly visible. When things become more difficult, the activity often shifts back to Truth Social during the early morning hours.
