There has been a lot of attention paid, over the last year, to the size and discoloration of the president’s hands.

The latest incident took place this week, when Trump appeared for a videotaped podcast interview with longtime pro-Trump New York Post columnist Miranda Devine:

“Look at how swollen and disfigured Trump’s right hand looks during his new podcast appearance with Miranda Devine,” commentator Aaron Rupar noted.

Trump’s most recent physical seemed to provide some explanation for what’s going on.

Per People magazine, the physician, Capt. Sean Barbabella, DO, stated that the bruises on Trump’s hands were “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.”

“This represents a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy,” the doctor added. “No suspicious lesions or concerning growths were identified.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had stated that Trump had bruises on his hands because “he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day.”

Some social media users had comments on the appearance of the president’s hands:

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal noted this week that doctors “see gap” in the president’s physical results.

“If I was creating a report to send to another physician, I would have mentioned a little bit more about the carotid ultrasound,” said Dr. William Shutze, a Texas vascular surgeon, told the Journal. “What amount of plaque there is going to be—because almost all of us are going to have some buildup there.”
