We’ve known for some time now that even some of the staunchest pro-Trump Republican lawmakers found themselves deeply disturbed by the now ex-president’s actions (and more namely, his inaction) surrounding the infamous, violent January 6th Capitol attack enacted by his rabid supporters. Many of them were so deeply disturbed, in fact, that they were either supportive or very close to supporting the invocation of the 25th Amendment against Donald Trump, which would have effectively removed Trump from his presidential position and immediately replaced him with his Vice President Mike Pence.

In fact, not that long ago at all, we reported on a revelation from one GOP House Rep. who claimed he overheard two of his Republican colleagues, in the days following the Capitol siege, admitting that they had pressed Trump administration officials to invoke the 25th Amendment against then-President Trump, only to turn around and vote against Donald’s impeachment just a week later.

Long story short, there was no shortage of Trump’s own people who knew damn good and well that he had absolutely no business in the White House, and the Capitol attack that he essentially refused to call an end to was the catalyst for many of them. Even some of the most devout.

According to a new report from Axios, where they take a sneak peek into New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns’ new book, This Will Not Pass, none other than South Carolina senator and formerly devout Trump bootlicker Lindsay Graham was one of them.

Axios writes that, according to the upcoming book, “an enraged” Senator Graham made a call to White House counsel Pat Cipollone on the 6th of January, 2020, and clearly warned him that if then-President Donald Trump didn’t get far more aggressive, and quickly, with regard to denouncing the behavior of his own supporters who were actively attacking the nation’s Capitol with the whole of Congress and the then-Vice President inside, “we’ll be asking you for the 25th Amendment” to effectively and immediately remove Donald Trump from the presidency.

The report goes on to note that, during a face-to-face interview with the authors on that same fateful day, following the evacuation of the Capitol, Graham went on to express optimism that the violent and fatal Capitol insurrection would go on to serve as some sort of turning point for this country.

“People will say, ‘I don’t want to be associated with that’ … There will be a rallying effect for a while, the country says: We’re better than this,” Graham reportedly said at the time.

The South Carolina Republican lawmaker went on to suggest that Joe Biden was the perfect man for the job this time, stating, “I mean, how mad can you get at Joe Biden?”

I’m guessing this means Trump and Graham will be officially breaking up soon too.
