Donald Trump Reportedly Gets ‘Annoyed’ When Melania And Barron Speak Slovenian: ‘He Has No Idea What They’re Saying’

Of course he does.

Melania Trump and her son Barron have a very close-knit relationship. So much so that both speak Slovenian fluently and when that happens, dear old Dad, Donald Trump feels left out. Even though he has rarely ever been in his young son’s life, the former president is apparently uncomfortable with Melania’s influence on him.

It’s not surprising that Trump doesn’t like this. He absolutely MUST be the center of attention at all times and if Melania and Barron are conversing in their native language he feels left out, according to Mary Jordan, author of the book The Art of Her Deal. Jordan even noted that Barron, 18, speaks Slovenian to the Secret Service agents, which probably befuddles them as well.

“There’s a unit within the family unit, and it’s Melania, her mother (who has since passed away), her father, and Barron. And they all speak Slovenian,” Jordan told CBS News. Trump has continually expressed frustration at not knowing what they are saying. He’s never tried to learn the language so of course, he remains in the dark at least some of the time. Some of us would say he’s that way continually.

“He has said it annoys him sometimes because he has no idea what they’re saying,” Jordan said.

Melania was born in Slovenia and she has kept Barron at her side continually, shielding him from criticism by the media and helping him keep a low profile. As noted by News18, Barron was born in 2006 after mom and dad tied the knot in 2005.

This was quite a divot from the way Donald Trump’s older children experienced life. Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka have been in the public eye all their lives. Tiffany, the forgotten Trump daughter, perhaps not so much.

But now that he’s older, Barron has been venturing out in public more often. He is apparently multilingual and speaks French as well. His mom has publicly emphasized that people migrating to the U.S. should speak English.

“My opinion is that [the] more languages you speak, better it is, but when you come to America, you speak English,” she’s said in the past.

That’s spoken like someone who leads a life of privilege. Yes, it’s good if immigrants learn English when they come to the U.S. but some of them are fleeing lives of desperation and terror. People escaping from El Salvador have often been victims of escalating gang violence, meaning obviously that learning English is going to take a back seat.

Melania, relaxing in her spa at Mar-a-Lago, hasn’t had to face this. Barron doesn’t have any of these worries either. But I’m glad they continue to speak Slovenian, even if for no other reason, it drives Donald Trump nuts.
