During a phone call to Fox & Friends on Friday, Donald Trump was asked about whether he had a Mother’s Day message to share with the country, and also with his wife, Melania, the mother of his youngest son. Melania and Donald do not appear to have a loving relationship anyway, as her facial expressions at times appear to be that of a hostage seeking help without letting her hostage-taker know that she’s trying to give out clues in front of the camera.
Melania’s Be Best campaign should have been a tell really. Perhaps she was thinking, “If I launch an anti-bullying campaign while my husband is the biggest bully in the world, surely people will know something is deeply wrong.” Or, maybe she’s just a grifter, too. There is nothing ordinary about the First Couple, and Trump’s message for Mother’s Day confirms that even more.
Instead of honoring all of the mothers today, Trump launched a rant about the military and noted that he’s going to Camp David. Finally, after being asked twice about a message for Melania, he mentioned that she’s a good mother to Barron.

Somehow to Donald, Mother’s Day is about the military, and if you can wrap your head around that, then I have to question your judgment. Indeed, Trump’s wife-bot deserves a better shout out than offering a brief thought at the end of his Mother’s Day message that focused on the military.
And with that rant, Trump somehow made Mother’s Day all about him. Just like Trump barely mentions the over seventy-five thousand dead Americans from coronavirus, but instead, makes the pandemic all about him. Trump is devoid of empathy and is incapable of love. If you doubt that, just ask his Sharpie that he used when altering a weather map as Hurricane Dorian was barreling down on Southern states.
Well, we would like to extend our most sincere Mother’s Day wishes to the Third Lady. You see how nice we are?
