The Fine People Of New York Gave Ted Cruz An Awesome Yankee “Welcome” You’ll Never Forget

You reap what you sow, buddy.

Controversial TX Republican Senator and wannabe Cancun transplant Ted Cruz got less than a warm welcome at the Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees game he attended on Sunday night. Instead, the MAGA-loving lawmaker was greeted with what social media users called a “proper Yankee Stadium welcome.”

Spoiler alert: It wasn’t as cute as it sounds, but it was certainly hilarious. At least, for us, anyway. Probably not so much on Cruz’s part.

Upon his arrival at New York City’s Yankee Stadium this weekend, where the 51-year-old Republican senator was decked out in Houston Astro’s swag, Cruz was positively bombarded by multiple baseball fans at the home of the Bronx Bombers, who hurled insults at Ted, cussed him out, told him to leave, and even flipped him the middle finger, as he made his way up the bleachers to his seat.

Vice’s Jesse Angelo shared an image to Twitter showing a fan in the bleachers giving the GOP senator a big thumbs down, while at least three other spectators (assumably Yankees fans) can also be seen in the image flying the bird at the scandal-ridden, Trump-loving lawmaker.

Eventually, video footage of the incident began to spread across social media like wildfire, showing that a few thumbs down and some middle fingers were far from the worst of it for Ted Cruz Sunday night:

As if the photos and videos of Cruz’s heckling weren’t embarrassing enough on their own, it seems the senator is a glutton for his own punishment, as he took to Twitter with a smiling selfie from Yankee Stadium with the caption, “Minutes from opening pitch in Yankees Stadium. #GoStros.”

Social media massacred him in the comments:

They really don’t like you, dude. Like… At all.
