Scandal-plagued Donald Trump’s eldest son and namesake, Don Jr., put his cowardice on display this week, after he completely abandoned his plans for an Australian tour, amid a massive campaign launched by activists in the country to ban the disgraced former US First Son from ever even setting foot in Australia again.
As of yesterday, a petition launched on Change.org had garnered 21,725 signatures, claiming that Jr.’s visit Down Under “is likely to be a magnet for far-right and neo-Nazi groups across Melbourne.”
Naturally, the ex-president’s son was big mad over the petition against him, as it rapidly gained thousands of signatures in support, eventually responding to the campaign to ban him, claiming, “The same disease of woke identity politics and cancel culture that’s crippled the US has clearly taken hold.”
Junior was slated to make appearances in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne between July 9th and July 11th, as confirmed by Sydney Morning Herald. However, the Australian publication further confirmed that organizers of the events for the ex-first son abruptly announced yesterday that his speaking tour Down Under was canceled, stating that the eldest Trump son’s “landmark” tour had been postponed “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

The Morning Herald further reported that Junior was granted a visa yesterday before the abrupt cancellation was publicly announced.
A spokesman for Australia’s Home Affairs Minister told the local publication, “It’s his choice whether he comes or not but there is no immigration impediment to him coming.”
Additionally, Australian Member of Parliament Graham Perrett spoke with Sky News and said that he had heard that Junior’s ticket sakes were “tanking,” according to Morning Herald’s reporting. The report further noted that the security costs for the former president’s son’s event were said to be astronomical.
Turning Point Australia, the official organizers of the event, posted to the official website regarding the abrupt cancellation, saying, “Ticket holders are urged to hold on to their tickets, with details of the rescheduled date to be confirmed in the coming days.”
Frankly, I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were them. Junior’s not exactly known for being brave or facing criticism with poise and grace.
