The news of Trump’s alleged treason when it comes to Russia is absolutely saturating the news and has been for days, for good reason.
According to the bombshell reports that originated from a scathing tell-all from the New York Times, the Russian government has been offering Taliban fighters bounties for the killings of American soldiers. Donald Trump allegedly not only knew about this intelligence but opted to do absolutely nothing about it — a blatant act of treason against the nation he was sworn to protect.
But according to a new report from CNN, Trump’s intelligence officials in the White House eventually just stopped trying to brief him on the subject at all, because of the way the president behaves when Russia gets brought up.
CNN’s Jim Sciutto spoke with former Trump administration officials who claimed that superiors in the Trump White House quickly learned to limit their verbal briefings with the president on the topic of Russia and would regularly find that their written briefings had been altogether ignored.

One former senior national security staffer told CNN, “The president has created an environment that dissuades, if not prohibits, the mentioning of any intelligence that isn’t favorable to Russia.”
Both the director of national intelligence, John Ratcliffe, and national security adviser Robert O’Brien have since denied the claims.
However, their denial of the accounts has done nothing to stanch the reinvigorated relevance of the original Times report regarding Trump’s free-for-all behavior toward Russia.
Since the original report, three Taliban sources have corroborated the claims outlined in the report.
The Associated Press reported earlier this week that intelligence officials were aware of the bounties and had briefed the president on the intel as far back as 2019.
In speaking with several stories, CNN reports that Trump regularly “flew into a rage” when intelligence officials would attempt to brief him regarding any hostile activity against the United States coming from Russia.
The report goes on that officials quickly learned not to highlight unflattering information about Russia when they gave their briefings to the president.
Officials were left to try to determine how to prioritize information about Russia when it came to briefing the president and finally settled on “save it for when it matters” — which ultimately led to a “self-fulfilling prophecy” according to a former senior National Security Council: The less Trump was briefed on Russia, the less he believed Vladimir Putin could be a threat to the US.
Once again, we find ourselves in a position where the president of this nation cares more about Vladimir Putin than he does our safety as a nation.
To say that November can’t get here fast enough is an understatement.
