In all my years as a political journalist, there is one statement that I seem to repeat more often than any of the rest: “You can’t make this stuff up.”
On a weekly, if not daily basis, someone on the Right pulls something so insane, so ridiculous, or so unhinged that there’s really nothing else to say. You really just… Can’t make this stuff up.
This example is none other than Colorado Republican House Rep. Lauren Boebert, who is apparently in a tight race with Marjorie Taylor Greene for the GOP’s biggest stooge.
Boebert recently sat down for a one-on-one interview, in which she lauded her supposed variety of “life experiences” that she apparently believes made her a perfect fit for US Congress.
So much so, in fact, that she popped off with this little gem.
All of this has just built up to this experience. Really, I wish more members of Congress had the life experiences that I’ve had.”

Okay, Karen.
I wish I were kidding, folks. But, again, you can’t make this stuff up.
See for yourself:

Now, I’ll give you three guesses as far as how the social media responses went to Lauren’s “humble brag,” but really, you only need one:
Marrying the man who showed his willy to little girls, poisoning 80 customers, losing your business, birthing a child in the same truck in which he was conceived, and being forced to take 3 runs at a GED, is one hell of a life. 🥴

@laurenboebert Is this the “experience” you are talking about? pic.twitter.com/I5LF0QOSng

I’m quite sure that the other members of Congress aren’t interested in experiencing sugar daddy websites (well, some are- but not from the side she was on). 🥴

Would that be getting pregnant and dropping out of high school or having to take the GED four times?

See? It’s really no wonder I have to use that phrase so much.
