Throughout the recent reignited blockbuster public hearings from the January 6th House Select Committee, multiples clips of video footage from inside the Capitol building during the deadly, infamous insurrection have been publicly released by the panel — much of which featured Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Almost all of which has shaped up to be truly and deeply disturbing, and sheds new light on the severity of the situation from inside the proverbial house.
In one clip obtained exclusively by CNN directly from the J6 House Committee, we witnessed an unlikely moment of shared fear and camaraderie between Speaker Nancy Pelosi and then-Vice President Mike Pence as they both worked diligently to try to construct a plan in the throes of the violent attack against the Capitol and the congressional members inside. The footage shows Speaker Pelosi taking a call with Pence, while she was in a secure location with other lawmakers, where they were being kept safe and guarded as the riot continued to rage through the Capitol building. Pence, however, was reportedly held in a garage under the Capitol at the time of their call.
“How are you? Oh my goodness, where are you? God Bless you,” Nancy Pelosi is heard telling the then-Vice President, who is on the complete opposite side of the fence as her. But nevertheless, she goes on to assure Pence that he’s “very safe.”
Pelosi goes on to tell the VP that she was informed it “could take days to clear the Capitol,” however, there were places available where Congress could reconvene to finish the certification process of the 2020 presidential election.

“I worry about you being in that Capitol building,” Pelosi told Mike Pence. “Don’t let anybody know where you are.”

Mike Pence was undeniably under immeasurable pressure from then-President Donald Trump, as well as his mob of rabid insurrectionists, to help Trump overthrow the results of the presidential election and Joe Biden’s landslide win. Rioters all around and inside the Capitol building were shouting and chanting, “Hang Mike Pence!” The then-VP, as well as his wife and daughter, were only able to very narrowly avoid the violent mob of rioters.
We have since learned from numerous additional reports that Donald Trump personally expressed support and agreeance with the idea of his vice president’s public hanging.
