California’s Firefighter Union Chief Responds To Trump After His Attacks On The State

Someone had to say it!

Donald the “very stable genius” Trump has a real nasty habit of being anything but a “very stable genius” when it comes to pretty much anything and everything he’s involved in. Quite frankly, he’s little more than an unhinged, manic, fuckwit. And that’s on a good day.

But perhaps the biggest display of Donald’s blatant stupidity for the way anything in the whole wide world works has come as a result of the fires raging through the West coast of the United States, nearly swallowing the state of California whole.

As I’m sure you’ve noticed over the last nearly three years, Donald’s favorite scapegoat when it comes to these devastating fires is not global warming or any other legitimate, scientifically-backed reason for the destruction — but rather, dirty, unkempt forest floors. Because he doesn’t want to have to admit that something from the “dirty liberal agenda” may actually be true.

It’s been the fallback of his every single time a fire sweeps through the state, and now that California is engulfed in flames once again, he’s just doubling down on the nonsensical rhetoric — blaming the state’s liberal governor and their “terrible job of forest management.”

“The Governor of California, @GavinNewsom, has done a terrible job of forest management,” Trump’s series of tweets disparaging the state’s leadership began. “Every year, as the fire’s [sic] rage & California burns, it is the same thing-and then he comes to the Federal Government for $$$ help. No more. Get your act together Governor.”

Now, Donald has already found himself pretty brutally fact-checked by a local news anchor in response to his lies regarding the state’s fires. However, the head of California Professional Firefighters (CPF) — the public employee union representing more than 30,000 firefighters across the state — has now chimed in with a response to Donald’s tweets, calling the president’s actions “ill-informed, cruel and dangerous” in a statement released today.

“Any suggestion that disaster assistance for fire victims and firefighting efforts could be withheld because of the state’s forest practices is ill-informed, cruel and dangerous,” CPF President Brian Rice’s statement read. “The most destructive fires currently burning in our state started within the wildland-urban interface, not our forests. It is in these areas where the risk, and the potential loss of life and property, are the greatest. Many of the victims of California’s wildfires live in smaller, rural communities. Any attempt to withhold disaster assistance would be especially devastating for the people living in communities our firefighters are risking their lives to protect.”

Rice went on to point out that Donald has blatantly ignored his own responsibilities in the matter as head of the Federal government, instead blaming the issue of forest managing on California’s governor despite the fact that 60 percent of the state’s forest land is under federal government care.

“Yet the federal government has reduced support for forest management in California,” Rice chastised Trump. “Instead of raking California over the coals, we’d encourage Washington to reverse this worrisome funding trend.”

This isn’t the first time that Rice has found himself speaking out against Trump for the very same reason, either.

During last year’s Paradise fires, when Donald made similar, equally idiotic statements regarding the devastating blazes, Rice declared that firefighters “and the communities in this state deserve an apology” from Trump.

Addressing POTUS personally during an interview with a local news station, Rice stated, “You’re an idiot. And you should have never said that, and you should take the time before you speak. Words are very powerful.”

Words are very powerful, and Rice’s cut straight to the quick when it comes to the incompetence, ineptitude, and ignorance that is our sorry excuse for a POTUS.
